About Glutathione
Glutathione (GSH) is a tripeptide made of glutamate, cysteine and glycine, with an unusual gamma-peptide bond between glutamate and cysteine. Biogenesis Labs supplies glutathione as 1.5 g (1,500 mg) of powder in a 10 mL vial, for laboratory research use only.

How to calculate Glutathione concentration
concentration (mg/mL) = glutathione in vial (mg) ÷ diluent volume (mL)
- A 1500 mg Glutathione vial with 5 mL of bacteriostatic water is 300.00 mg/mL (300,000 mcg/mL).
- On a U-100 syringe, 100 units = 1 mL, so each unit holds 3,000.0 mcg.
- Use 10 mL instead and the same vial reads 150.00 mg/mL, or 1,500.0 mcg per unit. More diluent lowers the concentration; the glutathione in the vial does not change.
For U-40 syringes (40 units = 1 mL), divide mcg/mL by 40 instead of 100. The calculator above switches between both scales.

Reconstituting and storing a Glutathione vial
Let the sealed vial reach room temperature, swab both stoppers, and run the diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial rather than onto the powder. Swirl gently until dissolved — don't shake — and label the vial with the concentration and date. Reconstituted solutions are commonly kept refrigerated at 2–8 °C and protected from light. What concentration does a 1500 mg Glutathione vial with 5 mL give?
300.00 mg/mL, or 3,000.0 mcg per unit on a U-100 syringe.
How many U-100 units contain 1 mg of Glutathione?
It depends on the concentration: units per mg = 100 ÷ concentration in mg/mL. At 150.00 mg/mL (1500 mg in 10 mL) 1 mg is in 0.67 units; at 300.00 mg/mL (1500 mg in 5 mL) it is in 0.33 units.
How much bacteriostatic water should be added to a Glutathione vial?
There is no single correct volume. The volume comes from your own research protocol; the calculator and chart show the concentration each volume produces. Only add a volume your vial can hold.
Why is glutathione measured in grams instead of milligrams?
Glutathione vials hold far more mass than typical peptide vials. 1.5 g is 1,500 mg, so enter 1500 in the calculator. With 10 mL of diluent that is 150 mg/mL, or 1.5 mg (1,500 mcg) per U-100 unit.
What does the 10 mL on the label refer to?
It is the size of the vial. The vial holds 1.5 g of glutathione powder, so the diluent volume you add should not exceed 10 mL.
